Sherbrooke Youth Forum
Wednesday May 18, 2022
MC JUNE will host the Forum jeunesse de Sherbrooke to be held at LE PHARE high school.
What is the Youth Forum for?
It is above all an opportunity to express yourself on the issues that concern you and to influence municipal social policies related to youth. The city of Sherbrooke, the CIUSSS de l'Estrie-CHUS, the Center de services scolaire de la Région-de-Sherbrooke, the RBC Center for University Expertise in Mental Health and community organizations are ready to listen to you!
What is the Youth Forum?
A large consultation: In the fall of 2020, young Sherbrooke residents aged 15 to 29 were invited to answer the following question: If you could change one thing in your community, what would it be? The answers obtained made it possible to identify five issues that are at the heart of the concerns of young people in Sherbrooke: Education, mental health and well-being, discrimination and injustice, activities in the community and the environment.
You can find the summary document of this consultation HERE.
Thematic activities: During the fall of 2021 and winter 2022, several activities related to the themes of the major consultation will be on the program in order to continue the discussions and find concrete solutions.
A major unifying event: In May 2022, a major unifying and participatory event will be held. On the program: conferences, festive activities, discussions, activities and more! The goal ? Bring together the young people of Sherbrooke, listen to them and produce a manifesto that will be given to municipal authorities and decision-makers from different backgrounds to promote the voice of the youth of their city. This will be a great opportunity to express yourself on subjects that are close to your heart.
